Millions of people become sick each year from drinking contaminated water. Children are especially susceptible. An estimated 1.5 billion cases of diarrhea occur each year, resulting in the death of nearly 2 million children. Worldwide, about 1.3 billion people do not have access to safe drinking water, including nearly half the population of sub-Saharan Africa. Yet, in many of the most severely affected regions, sunshine is an abundant source of energy that can not only cook food but can also heat water to temperatures that kill harmful microbes, making water safe to drink. This procedure is called solar water pasteurization.

I agree they do hold up to 200 pounds, but for an adult male that really isn’t a whole lot of support – that may be per nylon cord though I’m just not sure – I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to test it out suspended over a 100 foot gorge though.

A lightweight tent sounds just the job when I’m hiking or cycling around (dont think I’ll be using mine as a hammock though as I’ a bit on the heavy side !

I agree tent setup was always my least favorite thing to do when camping as a kid – tents now a days are much easier to set up I think than they were back then.

Sounds great, anything that makes setting up the tent quicker is a good thing, it’ll leave more time for everything else your wanting to do on your trip.
